How to Do Exponents

You first look at your base wich is the bottom number.
Then look your exponent wich is the top number.
The expnonent tells you how many times to multiply the base times itself.
example:two to the third power=8 because 2x2x2=8


Vocabulary

Base- like I said is the bottom number
Exponent- also like I said is the top number



How its used

Exponents and scientific notation are used in telling the speed of light without writing all the zeros
